MoreMotion Application Studio (MMAS) is a web application development IDE that works on the Windows platform. It was engineered to develop the comprehensive applications in shorter period of time using considerably less manpower.
The web applications developed with MMAS are pure Java web applications and they run on the Java platform. Therefore a web application developed with MMAS can run on any operation system including Windows, Linux, Unix, AS400, IBM MVS, etc.
As long as there is a suitable JDBC driver available, MMAS can access to any database system including Oracle, MS SQL Server, DB2, MySQL, Postgre, Informix, Sybase, Progress, MS Access, etc.
MMAS library includes more than 200 components to match all the requirements of a comprehensive web application.
See Components.
The visual development tools that promise "Rapid Application Development" usually stuck in database grids and forms as if a web application is all about grids, forms and few user controls. It is like saying "you can use me for your simple needs but if you want to develop a comprehensive application you should look elsewhere, i.e. Eclipse, NetBeans, JDeveloper; but then you need a team of professional Java developers".
This is not the case for MMAS. With MMAS you can develop even huge applications that consume databases, web services, legacy systems, EJBs, MQs, SAP, etc. simply because you're on a Java platform.
For the RARE cases where the provided components are not sufficient, you can write your own Java classes in your favorite IDE and integrate to MMAS seamlessly.
One of the common questions asked by the users who are familiar with the IDEs like MS Visual Studio, Eclipse and NetBeans is "How MoreMotion AS is different than the tool I'm using? Where is the advantage?"
To find answers to those questions please have a look to the following links.
