Page Design Area displays the contents of an open page and allows user to edit it visually. There is one Design Area window per each open page.

Page Design Area windows can be minimized, maximized, restored using the standard Windows controls. It can be tiled horizontally/vertically, cascaded or can be brought in focus using the commands in "Windows" menu.

 

The Layout of Design Area

From "View" menu, choose one of "Page Layout" or "HTML Layout" for your convenience.

The Grid

The Grid eases the design efforts of a page when working in "Snap to Grid" mode. The elements are aligned and sized along the grid lines to give the user better control on the design.

Use CTRL+G to toggle Snap to Grid mode.

Use menu "View | Display grid" to display or hide grid lines.

You can change the grid size using menu "Project | Project Properties".

The Resolution Markers

They indicate the borders of most commonly used screen resolutions like 640x480, 800x600, 1024x768, etc. to help you manage your design not to cross over your preferred resolution.

To display/hide Resolution Markers use menu "View | Display resolution markers"

Element Borders

Every element occupies a certain area on the page. Elements Borders help you recognize it easily. To display/hide element Borders use menu "View | Display element borders".
